Broadband Awards name BT, Huawei and Nokia among shortlist



China electronics giant Huawei continues to solidify its place as a global broadband leader with no fewer than five shortlisted nominations in the Broadband Awards 2016.

Huawei joins players such as ADTRAN, BT, ZTE, Nokia, Vodafone, Telefonica and Orange on the elite shortlist that is a who’s who of the industry’s biggest hitters. see full list here

Running for more than 10 years, the Broadband Awards recognise key achievements of operators over the past 12 months, in nine categories. The categories cover the breadth of the industry, from Best Connected Home Innovation to Best Fixed Broadband Innovation to Best Partnership Award and Best Customer Experience Innovation.

The 60-strong shortlist was selected from the entries by an independent judging panel from the Broadband 100, consisting of:

  • Ranulf Scarbrough, Director, Cornwall & Scilly Superfast Broadband Programme, BT
  • Daniel Brower, Vice President Business Development, Deutsche Telekom
  • Mansoor Hanif, Director of Radio Access Networks, EE
  • Sami Susiaho, Head of Edge Technologies, BSkyB
  • Mark Newman, Chief Analyst, ConnectivityX
  • Fumio Watanabe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, KDDI R&D Laboratories
  • Ahmed Saady Yaamin, Vice President Business Intelligence and Big Data, Robi Axiata

The Broadband Awards 2016 winners and the highly commended entries will be announced at the prestigious Awards evening at the Leadenhall Building on October 19, more information on the awards is available here
