The internet in a minute

infographic_1080_logoWhat did you do in the last minute? If the answer is you transferred 639,800GB of data then congratulations – you are the internet. Well done.

The infographic above, created by processor giant Intel, shows what happens in on the internet in one single minute.

It’s not necessarily all the biggest traffic players, just the ones that it thinks we’ll have heard of. Top trumps is probably YouTube though, which transfer 30 hours of video content in that minute, while serving 1.3million views.

As impressive as that is it’s blown away by the prediction that by 2015 it will take 5 years to view all the video content that will cross IP networks in one single second.

It gives a good sense of where we’re going internet wise and the challenges that are facing broadband providers worldwide.

For those in the Asia region, these issues will be dissected and discussed at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong. Click here to download a brochure for the event.
